There’s nothing quite like brown rice, black beans and grilled chicken for dinner.

Thinking about the work God is doing in my life, and feeling hopeful and thankful. Love this quote from Mere Christianity:

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”

I love Brené Brown and her take on perfectionism in the “Self Compassion” chapter of her book “The Gifts of Imperfection.” Almost all of us struggle with body image, self confidence, and the complicated relationship between food and our emotions. Embrace your imperfections. Practice being more compassionate and loving with yourself. Do you believe you’re worthy of love, just as you are?

Yes! Stop getting on the scale if it makes you feel defeated or hopeless. So many other ways to celebrate your life and progress.

I refuse to stop caring for myself. I resolve to keep going today. It’s not about arriving at a certain weight or size. It’s about the daily commitment and how the journey shapes you. Keep pushing forward. Care for yourself well today. Spend time with others and laugh and drink a lot of water and get moving. It’s the little things. It’s about today. Keep going, friends!

Slow progress is better than no progress.

So. Good.

So. Good.

Always absolutely giddy after working out. Thankful for two legs and a heartbeat. Do something today that your future self will thank you for.
